About Us

Nature Babies was formed in 2001 as a result of an inability to find a good supply of washable nappy products in response to a new baby's nappying needs. Four years later we are plased to see that there are now a good deal more options available to mums and washable nappies are "on the up and up" which is a good thing, as we simply don't have the space to fill up our countryside with bags and bags of baby nasties laced with all kinds of chemicals which won't disappear in a hurry.....

So who are we.........see the photos below!

This is me with my Father in 2005 - he has helped me with IT solutions from getting started with computerised accounts packages to databases and spreadsheets - he sadly passed away in March 2006 - we are still using his database though for small order amalgamation and will be eternally grateful to him for all his help.

This is Rajinder who joined us in September 2005 - she has had her own business with her husband making schhool uniforms and is an experienced seamstress - aka Doctor Rajinder, she has a knack of knowing a home cure for lots of ailments and they work!

This is Anne who has been sewing for many years - Anne likes to make an early start in the morning and has a very dirty laugh, which sets us all off!! She is a very experienced and careful machinist and always finds us the quickest and easiest ways of sewing procedures. Helping to keep the work flowing round the unit, Anne has been invaluable in holding it all together this Summer.

This is Diane, who has mastered the ancient art of poppering - and thank goodness for that! Dianne has also a keen sense of humour and is a consciencious worker.

Gillian is my best ever “bus stop find” as we met at the bustop as she was collecting a child off my daughters school bus! She lives here in Quorn and between us we make “one good Manageress” (well we like to tell ourselves that anyway !) Gillian gets out the orders, despatches, rings customers etc. i.e. a true person Friday! Gillian and I share the same sun sign (Gemini) and moon sign (Aquarius) and one famous lady who had both sun in Gemini and moon in Aquarius was ……Marilyn Monroe ! …say no more…..

Theresa doesn’t really have a shiny blurry face, but she wasn’t there the day I took the photies so this is scanned in from a photo taken at our last Christmas “do” – she is an extremely fast all round machinist and has helped to hold the fort when the going gets tough - a good person to have in a crisis, Theresa is a valued member of our production team.

Marie is Theresa’ s daughter and was and sometimes is still known affectionately by us as “wotsits daughter” but she takes it in good stride - its Annes fault, she started it!! Marie is a very careful machinist who has worked in all fields of work, but has come back to machining here at Nature Babies “cos she loves it so much! Another valued member of our team.

This is Sandra, Queen of the Diddys - she has been working with us since 2003 and has her own business also with her partner Jill.

This is Jill and not the best shot of her! Jill is another very experienced machinist who has a flair for reminding us of songs from years ago we would all rather forget!! Her greatest one still has to be "Coward of the County!" but she loves modern music too of all genres !
